Description

Rob Liefeld would be proud of me.

The last member of Team Crisis to be recruited, Bloodbath's bizarre origin complements his appearance.

Hailing from an alternate timeline where vampires were never a secret and took over the world, Frederick Danson was a soldier in the NUSA (Neo United States of America) military. As part of the fourth generation (three generations after the initial takeover), Danson grew up in a relatively peaceful society, which had advanced dramatically due to 45% of the planet's population now having increased speed and strength. At first, humanity suffered the most from the daily harvests needed to sustain the growing population, but after the United Nations derived a way to manufacture artificial blood, peace between the two species was attained- despite intense friction between the two.. And despite the vampires' dramatically-increased lifespan, their population was kept in check by the sun itself, since at least 12 vampires were killed every sunrise- with no solution to this problem.

When a race of cephalopod-like aliens known as the Vy'Ell attacked the planet in 1991, Bloodbath fought at the forefront of the conflict at 34 years of age. When he single-handedly held the line against a legion of the squids with nothing more than a knife (at the cost of his left arm), he received cybernetic upgrades (such as wings between his arms and motors that increased his already-superhuman strength) and a replacement arm, which was made primarily of tempered glass. The arm, being hollow, funneled blood from his gun's hypodermic bayonet, which can drain a man dry of blood in mere seconds, increasing Frederick's strength. This gun would later become known as "The Bloodgun" by his enemies.

During a crucial point in the war, however, Frederick stumbled upon the Vy'Ell's sinister secret: They weren't from another planet, but rather from another dimension, and had constructed a portal in the former site of Yankee Stadium! Lunging at them with his Bloodgun and energy blaster, Danson intended to destroy the portal and close their supply of reinforcements, but was no match for the thousands already gathered. They backed him into the portal, which sent him hurtling into the limbo between dimensions. With only one way to save himself, Frederick pointed his blaster at the fragile dimensional barriers and fired. The resulting cosmic tremor opened a rift into a parallel timeline, which he fell into.

Emerging in a world without vampires (the main Crisis-Comics universe), Bloodbath was one-of-a-kind. Arriving in Bastion City, Florida, he became a mercenary that fought for money (and enough blood to survive) by night, and slept in his heavily-curtained apartment by day. He ran afoul of the law a few times, but his superhuman abilities and advanced technology usually won him the fight. At one point, in the year 2000, he received an email promising twelve million dollars if he would attend a meeting at a site chosen by a mysterious benefactor. It was then that he earned his invitation to join the world's first premier superhero team: Team Crisis!

Intrigued by the potential opportunity to help the people of this world (as well as the promise of an all-expenses paid membership), Bloodbath became an integral (if not jarring) addition to the team, fighting alongside other heroes such as Moon Man, Limitless Man, and Quarterback. He and Quarterback shared a kinship of sorts, being the muscles of the team, though his blood-fueled rage was only outmatched by the football coach's finesse and skill. He frequently had to be kept in line, but when he was let off the leash or had to make a precise shot, he always performed spectacularly. Under their rules, he wasn't allowed to drink blood from innocents or even enemies, so his hunger was subsided by legally-purchased packs of blood. In return, his armor was outfitted with a shield generator that protected him from the sun's rays- allowing him to finally see the sun for the first time in his life.

Bloodbath's undead life came to an end, however, in the Purge of 2004, where Team Crisis was lured to Washington D.C., and despite a valiant last stand, was terminated by forces working for an unknown branch of the United States government. His armor and weapons were retrieved and interred at an unknown location.

I love it!

I have a few Liefeld-inspired characters in my comics,too!

I even have a character called ''The Pouchmaster''just to mock Liefeld and make fun of him!.
